Lambrusco: The Pride of Emilia-Romagna

When you hear Italy, you think food. When you here Emilia-Romagna, you thing really good food. That’s because it is known as Italy’s food capital (and for good reason, think Bolognaise and Parmigiano Reggiano). Lambrusco is THE wine to pair with some of the most quintessential Italian dishes. Known in America as sickly sweet sparkling red, it is much more than that. Though it is sparkling, racy dry versions exist, as well as some delectable rosés. Join Todd Chatterton at The Fearrington House for this class!

It was at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park that Todd first fell in love with food and wine. While completing his Bachelor’s degree for Advanced Wine, Beverage, and Hospitality, he studied in Napa Valley under Christie Dufault and Robert Bath, Master Sommelier. Upon graduating, he began his hospitality career at multi-awarded restaurant Eleven Madison Park in New York City. During his time there, Todd also broadened his beverage skills by leading their renowned coffee and tea program. After his stint at Eleven Madison Park, he joined the Chef Michael White’s Altamarea Group team at Vaucluse and Osteria Morini. He is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and is actively pursuing his Advanced Sommelier designation.

He is now currently a Sommelier at the Fearrington House. Not only is Todd passionate about wine, but he is an avid beer geek, homebrewer, and cocktail enthusiast.
