Spark your teen's imagination this summer! Award-winning author and educator John Claude Bemis will be leading a writing camp at McIntyre's Books for writers ages 12 - 18. Aspiring authors will engage in fun activities to turn ideas of the imagination into stories on paper (or the laptop). Campers will build a variety of writing skills and have a chance to write, share, and discuss their stories.
This class will go virtual if it must! No matter what the summer holds, this much-anticipated workshop will be held so go ahead and make your plans.
Here's what past participants have said about the workshop:
“This camp is so much fun! There are lots of ideas and techniques I can take back to my own projects at home. Talking with ‘your people’ who all love books and writing as much as you is an exciting and heartwarming experience.”
"I greatly enjoyed this camp and recommend it to anyone who's interested in writing. We received great tips and tricks about getting inspiration and writing a successful story. It’s really helpful—and super fun! It’s great meeting fellow aspiring writers. You will come up with great stories! There’s no pressure—it’s a great environment to just be yourself.”
“On the first day of this camp, I didn’t expect much at all. But when the camp started, I had a ton of fun! I enjoyed every activity we did. I thought that the tips and ideas John gave us were really good and meaningful. If this camp was happening again next year with John, I would be the first to sign up!”
